India Internship / Business Studies Program - Program Funding
Program funding
IndiaInternships.com seeks to make this program accessible to students by securing funding in the form of scholarships to cover the majority of the expenses associated with the feature-rich program.
Where scholarships are not available, students are responsible for the program fee (please contact IndiaInternships.com for current program fees). Past students have been successful in securing partial or full grants from academic departments, alumni internship funds, grants from past employers and philanthropic organizations.
Internship Program Expenses
Expenses covered by the program fee: Airport pickup/drop off in Bangalore, pre-departure package (program information, Bangalore information, suggested packing list), orientation program and materials(orientation manual/resource guide, map and atlas of Bangalore and India, cell phone and instructions for use, campus and surrounding area tour, welcome banquet), assistance in securing accommodations, internship placement, India business studies classes, study materials, social and networking events, medical insurance, emergency cards (laminated emergency cards with directions and 24-hour contact numbers for IndiaInternships.com staff and recommended clinics)
Expenses not directly covered may include: Airfare to/from India ($1,500 and up), passport and visa fees, accommodations, meal allowance ($500), transportation to and from ICMIS and the internship, travel not related to coursework or internship, optional excursions to South India, laundry, personal expenses (e.g., laundry, postage, telephone calls, souvenirs, non-program related travel, internet fees, etc.).
Please note that some items may be partially or fully covered by scholarship-funded internships. As each internship offer is unique, IndiaInternships.com advises discussing each situation directly in order to clarify the associated costs and the funding assistance that may be available.
Post-Acceptance
If accepted, a confirmation deposit of $400 must be received by IndiaInternships.com in order to secure your position and to cover prepayment of education and administrative expense.
Once accepted, IndiaInternships.com will coordinate with the host company to secure travel reservations to and from India. This should be done as early as possible, as many routes frequently sell out. Additionally, interns will receive a detailed program guide that provides a detailed check list of pre-departure tasks as well as helpful travel planning information and pre-departure reading materials.
